Governing or Campaigning

Telling it like it is.

Here is an example from the black entrepreneur demographic.
By the way, you did not need to be black to buy into some of the hope and change buzz. I am old enough to remember some of that from the late sixties and early seventies. Kids are gone, ready to retire, along comes this slick politician stirring up old memories and grandiose dreams. Anyway the monk sets it straight.

Youtube strikes again!

Here is an example from the confused white journalist demographic. Well not really. He is a professional ranter but his point about politicians and money certainly rings true.

Criticism of Obama?

Perhaps there are a few non partisan people out there who are just fed up with Washington and the current Pied Piper.

Here is an example from the female entrepreneur demographic:

Smartest man in the room syndrome

President Obama is very bright.  He is probably the smartest man in the room many times.

When we were teenagers or better yet, sophomores at university, many of us thought we were the smartest man in the room.  We debated many topics and often assumed radical or idealistic positions in discussions because we were sincere about causes or we just liked to debate.  As we look back, perhaps we are thankful that even if we were the smartest man in the room, we did not have the power to force our solutions on the world.

Whether you agree or disagree with President Obama on the many subjects he has raised in his almost 2 years of office, it matters not.  What should concern you is that he truly believes he is the smartest man in the room on all subjects.  As President he has the power to force his solutions on the world.

Politicians in the classroom

Is there any part of our society that is safe?  It is amazing that we can get up in the morning without written and verbal instructions from our President.  I do not know what we would have done if we had not installed him as our President soon to be king or god or whatever he chooses.  I guess the last straw is telling our teachers how to teach and inserting his ever present and always campaigning personality into our primary classrooms on Tuesday next week.  Does anyone remember another time with a similar strategy – I believe they called it the Hitler Youth Movement.  As Radar on MASH would say – Wait for it!

Answer the question

I was watching Fox cable news yesterday.  They were using the typical format with one Democrat and one Republican talking head separated by a right leaning moderator.  The moderator challenged the democrat with a question about recent white house claims that the Obama war effort is more effective against terrorists and actually has eliminated more terrorists than the Bush administration.  The democrat immediately launched into a political spin on how evil Bush was to use torture as an interrogation technique.  After about a minute or rhetoric, the moderator interrupted and asked the democrat to answer the question with statistics, facts not oratory.  He then quoted some vague comments from an onsite general who basically said that things are going better now.

When the moderator turned to the republican he got similar oratory – this time defending the recent statements of Cheney.  Again no answer to the question.

Pick your issue.  When you become a talking head for a US political party do you lose your ability to understand English? Without transparent answers to questions then there is no point to the interview.
