President Obama is very bright. He is probably the smartest man in the room many times.

When we were teenagers or better yet, sophmores at unversity, many of us thought we were the smartest man in the room. We debated many topics and often assumed radical or idealistic positions in discussions because we were sincere about causes or we just liked to debate. As we look back, perhaps we are thankful that even if we were the smartest man in the room, we did not have the power to force our solutions on the world.

Whether you agree or disagree with President Obama on the many subjects he has raised in his almost 2 years of office, it matters not. What should concern you is that he truly believes he is the smartest man in the room on all subjects. As President he has the power to force his solutions on the world.

The free market economy covets a stable predictable environment with a minimal government interference in the form of regulation, taxes or ‘competition’.

Often this is contested by socialist thinking such as the current administration in Washington today, February 16 2010. This results in more regulations, ‘competition’ to keep private industry ‘honest’, and more taxes – initially for the rich and eventually for all to sustain the debt required to maintain the government presence in industry and socialist entitlements which guarantee socialist popularity.

Since the 2008 campaign we have been promised a better economy through ‘green jobs’. After the election, a stimulus package was passed which included many ‘green job’ items.

Here is a review of this type of ‘green job’ strategy by George Will as presented in Real Clear Politics:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2009/06/25/tilting_at_green_windmills_97168.html

George does a pretty good job of summarizing the situation. The only thing he left off is nuclear energy programs which are not green. I mention this because France is head and shoulders the leader in this area of power production. Isn’t France always opposing our use of fossil fuels and trying to encourage us to use wind and solar power? Why isn’t France concentrating on wind and solar power?

Bring on Obama and campaign promises of a new world with new ‘green jobs’ for all which are planet friendly and make all of us more fulfilled etc. etc. He may or may not believe this political tripe but here is reality. Upon election a stimulus bill was passed which included significant funds for ‘green energy’ projects. You know, the ones which will create those beloved ‘green jobs’ that are bankrupting Spain just now. Here is a story from WSB in Atlanta:

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/22508703/detail.html

This story reveals that we are spending the stimulus money on Spanish technology and hardware. We either do not know how to build wind turbines or we do not have time to develop efficient ones. Doesn’t a company do this in the USA – GE perhaps. You know, like the Spanish ones which are not providing economically justifiable levels of power for Spain while bankrupting the Spanish treasury by creating green jobs at a cost of $800,000 each. Only a socialist government would campaign for doing something that it turns out we cannot do and upon further investigation we find out that no one can do… Furthermore, have you ever talked to any0ne who lives near one of these wind farms. Perhaps we should build project housing out there. I assure the land will be cheap.

Finally here is an example of the death knell being rung by Obama and his Marxist/Socialist/DoGooders whatever…

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/feb/16/brick-by-brick-american-business-loses-edge/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_must-read-stories-today

Just another example of American ingenuity being forced out of existence by punitive government policy and attitude.

One last note, the trigger for this article, Organizing for America – Obama’s money and people raising email organization – recently brags …

“In just the last 3 days, OFA volunteers like you have pledged an incredible 4,000,000 (and counting!) hours to support members of Congress and candidates who fight for real health reform…” The lack of self thought and common sense among the American people is very disappointing. What is truly disheartening is the following: why can no one see the truth about Obama and his administration? Why can no one see the slippery slope they are leading this country down.

Whenever you want to answer the last question, here is what you can do. Keep a pad and pencil next to you where you watch the nightly news. Every time you hear a story about the current administration – good or bad – make a note. In the note grade the story on the level of criticism or praise of the current administration. Also note if either the Republicans or George Bush are mentioned in a negative manner. Whenever possible recall similar situations that George Bush endured during his 8 years and the treatment he received from the media.

Barry hits a home run in eastern Europe. By canceling our previous defense program for eastern Europe, our President has once again become the idol of the masses of Europe. He is so popular over there it is truly amazing.

“It is a big victory for the Czech Republic. We are happy that we will be able to continue to live in our beautiful country without the presence of foreign soldiers,” said Jan Tamas, an activist who had organized numerous protests. What the heck is this guy talking about. If he is representative of how Europe perceives our previous defense program, then let’s get everyone out of Europe right now. While we are at it, let’s use some stimulus money to lay out the red carpet for Putin.

I guess there is a lot of heavy metal contamination in the water supplies in Europe which has effected the memories of the citizenry. Were these people not the same ones who were protesting the oppression by the USSR just a couple of decades ago?

I guess I must be misremembering it.

US and ally military deaths are rising.
The President is defining this war as essential to the freedom of our society. More troops and more money are necessary, perhaps unlimited time.
This all should sound familiar. It was ridiculed by Senator Obama when President Bush was extolling the necessity of the ‘Surge’ in Iraq.
The shoe is on the other foot now. President Obama is attempting to justify increasing the activity in Afghanistan while suggesting there may not be an exit strategy from this war.

Yahoo outdid themselves December 8 2008. The previous post talks about Obama and smoking which was the first Yahoo item. I did not dig into the item but now I cannot resist. Where was our great investigative reporting during the last 12 months. I guess the great left media decided that the fact that Obama was a smoking and had lied about quitting would not serve him well on the campaign trail. But Palin’s makeup and clothes are worthy of numerous front page exposees. Enough already.

But what has really set me off today is the follow up. While the great left media is explaining how smoking and lying about it is not really so bad a thing, the next item is to ridicule President Bush for his physical fitness regimen. At the same time the fitness of the Obamas is referenced and Obama’s physical fitness activities are praised. How can a senior citizen be criticized for his efforts at good health while a 47 year old smoking and plays some BB to the praises of all? Enough already.

When the real media decides to show up and start writing something that resembles the unbiased truth please let me know so that I can start paying attention again.

Oh, by the way, this fairness doctrine which is being used to threaten talk radio must be the most ridiculous concept discussed by our congress in a long time. Who is going to be the judge of fairness? After the last 12 month session of BS on the anti-Bush, pro-Obama trail, can anything be more bias. Yes. Rush Limbaugh. But the people love Rush. Wait a minute. Supply and Demand. Isn’t that what our whole economy is based on? Let’s not muddle up a great issue like ‘fairness’ with some opposing viewpoints. Wait a minute, isn’t that what the fairness doctrine is all about? I’m confused. I think I just met myself coming in the out door.

Yesterday Yahoo News ran a story about President Elect Obama and his inability to quit smoking. The story was was remarkable except that it is just another instance of Obama equivocating …

Are you a Muslim or not, I don’t care but stop the deceptive behavior and possible lying. How can you know the morning prayer (on key) for the NY Times in the fall of 2007 and not have some Muslim background. This is not a bad thing. It was a chance to really be change and hope. A breath of fresh air, some transparent honesty. What rational being can attack a person for his religious education pre puberty? It’s the deception and lying or at least misrepresenting that is disheartening.

Are you a Marxist or a socialist? Did you not associate strongly with Marxist when in your 20′s both in LA and NY city. Do you not know William Ayres and more importantly his wife Bernadine Dohrn? Was you wife Michelle in contact with Dohrn during her time at the law firm of Sidley Austin in Chicago? There is nothing especially bad about these items, what we need is some transparent facts without the purposeful deception.

Why are so many people questioning your citizenship and place of birth. Were you born in Kenya or Hawaii? Stop the half truths with some real truth with the associated proof and explanation.

The list goes on but pretty soon you come to the conclusion that Obama speaks with forked tongue. So stop with the change and hope theme. Go with the same old politics and politicians theme. This guy even is a covert smoker for crying out loud. Stop with all the idealistic crap and let’s see if he can deliver on any of his campaign promises.

I am very disappointed. Ferguson of very late night TV had it right early in the game. Obama and his ads, hope … , change … , … vague …

I just wish he would either be quiet or tell the truth at least until he is President.

Yesterday’s big news was earth shattering.

-Sarah Palin spends too much on wardrobe – $150,000. My comment, how does that stack up against $150,000,000 election campaign contributions raised and will be spent per month by Obama.

-Joe Biden just cannot get anything right. He really is in a spot. When he tells the truth – Obama has no foreign affairs experience and might be taken advantage of by foreign governments after his election – he gets attacked by the media. When he spins out of control on an unfamiliar topic – like the duties of the VP during the Palin debate – he just spins some fantasy that sounds good – Cheney grabbing more power, everyone loves to hate Cheney. Poor Joe, go hide in Delaware with your friends.

The World economy is reacting very poorly to this subprime mortgage crisis and seems to be heading into a severe recession. Oil prices are crashing with the economy and now OPEC talks about cutting back on production. Talk about someone get to eat their cake and keep it too. When demand is strong OPEC believes in letting the price ride with full elasticity. When demand is poor, OPEC wants to artificially manipulate supply to prop up the price. Amazing.

Neither candidate has a good solution for our economic woes so MSM focuses on the campaign bickering. This really isn’t a criticism of either candidate. The economic issues are very complex and one might even blame our current ‘immediate gratification’ mindset for most of the problems.
